Experienced Estate Planning Services

Experienced Representation For Estate Planning

If you are formulating plans for the distribution of your assets upon death and need to evaluate the different strategies for meeting your objectives, you want an experienced lawyer, one who has helped others successfully develop and implement an effective estate plan. If you have been named as executor or administrator of the estate of a loved one, you want knowledgeable and compassionate legal counsel to guide you through the probate process so that you can settle the estate in accordance with the deceased’s wishes.

At the Probate Law Center, PC, in St. Louis, I have more than 35 years of experience providing estate planning and probate counsel to individuals and families throughout the southwest St. Louis Metro area. I have seen firsthand the benefits that comprehensive estate plans bring to those you leave behind. Contact me to schedule a free initial consultation.

Setting Your Estate Planning Goals

When you hire me to help you with your estate planning, I will start by asking questions that help me understand your objectives and your current financial situation. I will then explain the different strategies for meeting your goals, including the use of wills and trusts, the re-titling of assets such as homes and bank accounts, and lifetime gifting of property.

Once you have selected the approach that will meet your needs, I will prepare and execute all the documents necessary to implement your estate plan, including:

  • Wills
  • Joint or separate trusts
  • Financial and medical powers of attorney
  • Health care directives (also known as living wills)
  • Beneficiary deeds – used to bypass the probate process when transferring real property

I can also prepare HIPAA releases, which will allow the dissemination of otherwise confidential medical records.

Updated Your Estate Plan Recently?

An estate plan is much like a motor vehicle. You need to properly maintain and service your vehicle and you must do the same for your estate plan. If more than a few years have passed, I can help you review your plan, review your current situation and suggest any changes necessary to keep your estate plan on track to achieve your goals.

Probate

If you have been named as executor in the will of a friend or loved one, or if you have been appointed administrator in an intestate estate, I will help you successfully complete the requirements set forth by the probate court. I will help you ensure that all final debts and taxes of the decedent are paid and any property is distributed according to terms of the will or the laws of intestacy.
